![]() These books will be some of the first on our list! I can’t wait to see where this series is going with the next book! I cannot wait until she gets a little older and is ready to learn how to read. My three year old enjoys having these read to her and she likes to point at the images as well as the colors and of course we spend more time telling her what is what then reading, but that’s all a part of the wonderful learning process at her age. They have simple text and amazing illustrations. Visual learning is just as important as being read to or learning to read, these books are colorful and amazing. I love how it is written in diary form and is a lot like a graphic novel. I love how the illustrations and the text within these books go hand and hand. It is quite similar to that of Thanksgiving and it is a day for all the animals of the forest to show their thanks and appreciation for the things they have, their friends and family and more. In Treetopolis they celebrate a day called Falling Leaves Day. We have been on so many different adventures with Eva, her family and her classmates, that this book is no exception. Each book is a diary based on the events that are taking place in Treetopolis at the time the book takes place. – I really cannot get over how amazing this book series is! Eva is a sweet little owl that keeps track of her day to day in a diary. Possible red flags: poverty and hunger prejudice and accusations. The book was strange and missed several opportunities.įor: fans of owls readers wanting a diary format and fun illustrations. Then the book only focuses on the present day farm animals until everyone remembers the hungry/cold forest animals and give them the leftovers at the end. This includes a very odd retelling of the first Thanksgiving where the forest animals share their food with the farm animals who are starving. The book could have had it's own mythos for Falling Leaves Day, but instead it is essentially Thanksgiving. However, the book feels VERY privileged, where considering others is an afterthought by many characters repeatedly. ![]() Readers will enjoy the bright illustrations and diary format as always. Eva and her class help out the farm animals for Falling Leaves Day and they must be detectives when the Thank-You Pumpkin goes missing. It's a little silly, but it's all about Snow White and her mirror, you see. It's like being the backup, and it's an important role too.ĭo you know what's really important in this book? Mirrors!
